May 06, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 113,568.50, showing a decrease of 533.73 points or 0.47%.

The index traded in a range of 1,674.58 points, showing an intraday high of 115,093.10 (+990.87) and a low of 113,418.52 (-683.71) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 165.33 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 39 closed up, 58 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were HMB (-5.02%), JVDC (-4.73%), AGL (-4.62%), AICL (-3.95%), and LUCK (-3.49%).

On the other hand, top gainers were POML (+9.98%), PGLC (+5.95%), YOUW (+5.49%), KEL (+5.29%), and PKGP (+3.24%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were LUCK (-171.32pts), HMB (-67.71pts), HUBC (-67.42pts), EFERT (-63.06pts), and BAHL (-57.80pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PPL (+73.99pts), OGDC (+58.25pts), PSO (+51.73pts), UBL (+48.91pts), and SYS (+41.84pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Cement (-269.07pts), Commercial Banks (-203.19pts), Fertilizer (-62.18pts), Pharmaceuticals (-47.54pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-43.16pts).

While the index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+144.50pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+49.82pts), Technology & Communication (+30.53pts), Engineering (+8.66pts), and Paper, Board & Packaging (+7.66pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,870.01 with a net loss of 234.20 points or 0.33%.

Total market volume was 420.55 million shares compared to 399.54m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs23.70 billion showing an increase of Rs3.84bn.

There were 263,136 trades reported in 451 companies with 187 closing up, 217 closing down, and 47 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 35,124 points or 44.77% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 1,558 points or 1.35% so far this calendar year.
