SBP to purchase GoP Ijara Sukuk worth Rs550bn on Bai Muajjal basis

September 15, 2026 (MLN): The State Bank of
Pakistan (SBP) has issued an auction tender notice for the outright purchase of
GoP Ijara Sukuk by the Government of Pakistan on a Bai Muajjal (deferred
payment) basis, with two auctions scheduled for September and October, carrying
a combined target of Rs550bn.
The Domestic Markets & Monetary Management
Department of the SBP notified the auction tender for the purchase of GoP Ijara
Sukuk on deferred payment from all Islamic banks and Islamic banking branches,
in accordance with the provisions of SBP-DMMD Circular No. 18 dated October 22,
2015.

As per the schedule, tenders will be received up to 1200
hours on the auction date, with the opening of tenders to be communicated
through email, while the result will be conveyed on the auction date itself.
The SBP noted that working arrangements and bid
submission details for the auction date will be communicated through a separate
email to all Islamic banking institutions.
