The index traded in a range of 1,895.21 points showing an intraday high of 116,700.01 (+1,441.02) and a low of 114,804.80 (-454.19) points.
The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 580.52 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies 50 closed up and 50 closed down.
Top losers during the day were JVDC (-4.24%), KOHC (-3.62%), PIOC (-3.61%), PAKT (-3.05%), and BAFL (-2.93%).
On the other hand, top gainers were PIBTL (+11.93%), PSX (+9.99%), PGLC (+9.98%), CNERGY (+5.51%), and BWCL (+4.55%).
In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-155.51pts), MCB (-80.91pts), BAHL (-71.10pts), BAFL (-57.96pts), and ENGRO (-57.56pts).
Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PPL (+99.38pts), UBL (+61.89pts), HBL (+56.28pts), DAWH (+51.97pts), and SRVI (+44.00pts).
Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer (-261.85pts), Cement (-95.49pts), Commercial Banks (-86.84pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-41.56pts), and Pharmaceuticals (-36.43pts).
While the index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+103.54pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+91.24pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+56.94pts), Refinery (+50.36pts), and Technology & Communication (+45.19pts).
In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 72,170.66 with a net gain of 36.99 points or 0.05%.
Total market volume was 1,236.87 million shares compared to 1,059.02m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs44.22 billion showing an increase of Rs3.33bn.
There were 440,481 trades reported in 464 companies with 234 closing up, 188 closing down, and 42 remaining unchanged.
