November 15, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 94,763.64, showing an increase of 571.75 points or 0.61%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 95,278.26 (+1,086.37) and a low of 94,431.18 (+239.29) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 283.27 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 58 closed up, 39 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were EFUG (+9.90%), TRG (+7.03%), UNITY (+4.99%), PKGP (+4.06%), and POML (+3.90%).

On the other hand, top losers were PIBTL (-6.79%), GLAXO (-4.20%), CNERGY (-3.26%), HGFA (-2.56%), and JVDC (-2.24%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were UBL (+115.46pts), HBL (+63.82pts), MEBL (+60.64pts), HUBC (+53.55pts), and PSO (+52.84pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were GLAXO (-27.59pts), MTL (-19.40pts), DAWH (-15.36pts), OGDC (-14.50pts), and SRVI (-14.36pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+319.73pts), Power Generation & Distribution (+89.71pts), Technology & Communication (+62.35pts), Fertilizer (+56.89pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+43.67pts).

While the index was let down by Automobile Assembler (-21.39pts), Leather & Tanneries (-14.36pts), Transport (-13.87pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-11.76pts), and Engineering (-10.22pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 60,578.76 with a net gain of 272.20 points or 0.45%.

Total market volume was 893.17 million shares compared to 1,084.34m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs30.81 billion showing a decrease of Rs1.87bn.

There were 344,576 trades reported in 473 companies with 204 closing up, 204 closing down, and 65 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 16,319 points or 20.80% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 32,313 points or 51.74% so far this calendar year.
