PSX Closing Bell: A Nudge Lower

September 28, 2026 (MLN): KSE100 Index closed Monday's trading session at 170,425.62 showing a decrease of 0.2% or 339.6 points.

The index traded in a range of 1,006.03 points showing an intraday high of 171,126.52 (+361.3) and a low of 170,120.49 (-644.73) points.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index closed lower as rising oil prices weighed on market sentiment after Washington rejected Tehran’s ceasefire terms, dimming hopes for an early reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and raising concerns over prolonged disruptions to global crude supplies.

The stronger oil prices added pressure to risk appetite, with selling emerging across key sectors and limiting investor participation.

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 139.0 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 30 closed up, 66 closed down while 4 remained unchanged.

KSE100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks with 206.49, Cement with 154.86, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 45.55, Textile Composite with 24.3 and Pharmaceuticals with 17.92 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were UBL with 102.5, HBL with 69.45, LUCK with 63.27, ENGROH with 46.23 and MARI with 38.66 points.

KSE100 index was supported by Technology & Communication with 62.39, Refinery with 54.99, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 25.7, Power Generation & Distribution with 22.89 and Fertilizer with 22.02 points.

Companies adding points to the index were TRG with 66.15, FFC with 63.3, OGDC with 56.18, ATRL with 48.16 and HUBC with 30.78 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 103,057.02 with a net loss of 184.03 points.

Total market volume was 421.016 million shares compared to 482.759 million from the previous session with traded value being recorded at Rs.17.74 billion showing a decrease of Rs.1.55 billion.

There was 282,206 trades reported in 496 companies with 181 closing up, 267 closing down and 48 remaining unchanged.
