March 21, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 118,442.17, showing a decrease of 327.60 points or 0.28%.

The index traded in a range of 1,071.51 points showing an intraday high of 119,405.91 (+636.14) and a low of 118,334.40 (-435.37) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 172.21 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 44 closed up, and 56 closed down.

Top losers during the day were CNERGY (-2.80%), KEL (-2.38%), PIBTL (-2.33%), PKGP (-2.31%), and SEARL (-1.96%).

On the other hand, top gainers were NML (+10.01%), ILP (+6.87%), KTML (+3.97%), PABC (+3.73%), and YOUW (+3.69%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-118.38pts), HUBC (-69.37pts), LUCK (-63.26pts), MARI (-54.55pts), and UBL (-38.65pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were SYS (+76.88pts), NML (+56.20pts), ILP (+38.59pts), MTL (+27.59pts), and SNGP (+23.19pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-163.27pts), Fertilizer (-144.61pts), Cement (-104.90pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-85.46pts), and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-43.30pts).

While the index was supported by Textile Composite (+107.26pts), Technology & Communication (+63.03pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+48.62pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+29.53pts), and Miscellaneous (+16.51pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 73,466.22 with a net loss of 160.06 points or 0.22%.

Total market volume was 369.12 million shares compared to 667.88m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs23.27 billion showing a decrease of Rs15.25bn.

There were 237,639 trades reported in 435 companies with 193 closing up, 190 closing down, and 52 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 39,997 points or 50.99% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 3,315 points or 2.88% so far this calendar year.
