March 30, 2022 (MLN): After witnessing a bullish session yesterday, the trading floor has endured notable selling pressure on Wednesday as investors preferred to book profit due to uncertain political environment in the country.

This is in addition to international commodity prices and continuous decline in PKR which have also shattered the confidence of investors.

Accordingly, the KSE-100 index ended the trading session at 44,337.56 with a gain of 101.14 points.

The Index traded in a range of 469.12 points or 1.06 percent of the previous close, showing an intraday high of 44,444.87 and a low of 43,975.75.

Of the 96 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 38 closed up 52 closed down, while 6 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 115.69 million shares.

Sector-wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 47 points, Fertilizer with 24 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 16 points, Commercial Banks with 13 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 11 points.

The most points taken off the index was by OGDC which stripped the index of 25 points followed by FFC with 17 points, PSO with 15 points, MCB with 15 points and TRG with 15 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Engineering with 12 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 12 points, Textile Composite with 9 points, Real Estate Investment Trust with 4 points and Pharmaceuticals with 3 points.

The most points added to the index were by ENGRO which contributed 10 points followed by BAHL with 9 points, SYS with 8 points, ISL with 7 points and DGKC with 7 points.

All Share Volume increased by 75.22 Million to 344.14 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs1.82 Billion.

Total companies traded were 354 compared to 363 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 158 closed up, 169 closed down while 27 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 9,429 to 121,417.

Value Traded increased by 0.63 billion to Rs7.78 billion
