JDW Sugar Mills commences commercial operations at new Ethanol Plant

August 01, 2025 (MLN): JDW Sugar Mills Limited (PSX: JDWS) has officially commenced commercial production at its newly established Ethanol Project, the company said in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday.

According to the material information shared, the plant, located at Mouza Peer Ahmedabad, Kot Sabzal, Tehsil Sadiqabad in District Rahim Yar Khan, successfully completed a 20-day trial run and has achieved its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on August 1, 2025.

The ethanol facility has a designed production capacity of 230,000 litres per day and is fully equipped to manufacture export-grade ethanol using molasses as a key input.

Terming the development a strategic milestone, the company stated that the project reflects its ongoing commitment to enhancing shareholder value through diversified and high-return ventures.

The Board of Directors extended appreciation to the company’s workforce, vendors, management team, and financial partners for their collective efforts in achieving this milestone.

The commencement of ethanol operations is expected to contribute positively to JDW’s revenues, particularly by tapping into export markets and leveraging value-added byproducts of its core sugar production business.
