PSX Closing Bell: El Toro

February 11, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 113,010.38, showing an increase of 1,632.42 points or 1.47%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 113,233.40 (+1,855.44) and a low of 111,834.20 (+456.24) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 244.30 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 76 closed up, 23 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were EPCL (+10.01%), SHEL (+10.00%), BNWM (+8.07%), PIBTL (+5.89%), and BOP (+5.35%).

On the other hand, top losers were MEHT (-2.53%), NRL (-1.45%), RMPL (-1.32%), PAKT (-1.07%), and CNERGY (-1.06%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were ENGROH (+247.70pts), PPL (+185.05pts), FFC (+156.34pts), OGDC (+151.21pts), and MARI (+110.62pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were SYS (-17.45pts), MEHT (-11.32pts), HBL (-11.24pts), PSEL (-7.24pts), and NBP (-5.62pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+449.83pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+256.75pts), Fertilizer (+219.67pts), Cement (+190.92pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+137.72pts).

While the index was let down by Tobacco (-5.44pts), Textile Composite (-2.74pts), Pharmaceuticals (-2.21pts), Miscellaneous (-0.91pts), and Real Estate Investment Trust (-0.72pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,026.32 with a net gain of 869.29 points or 1.26%.

Total market volume was 486.94 million shares compared to 415.16m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs30.38 billion showing an increase of Rs6.43bn.

There were 295,905 trades reported in 447 companies with 264 closing up, 117 closing down, and 66 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 34,565 points or 44.06% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 2,117 points or 1.84% so far this calendar year.
