December 24, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 112,414.80, showing a decrease of 1,509.61 points or 1.33%.

The index traded in a range of 2,742.07 points showing an intraday high of 115,036.49 (+1,112.08) and a low of 112,294.42 (-1,629.99) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 352.68 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 21 closed up, 78 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged.

Top losers during the day were PKGP (-9.98%), KOSM (-5.33%), PTC (-5.05%), MUGHAL (-4.83%), and CNERGY (-4.57%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PGLC (+10.03%), SNGP (+6.35%), TRG (+4.86%), APL (+3.46%), and DAWH (+3.30%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-335.80pts), MARI (-191.48pts), MCB (-143.86pts), HUBC (-110.23pts), and ENGRO (-68.76pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were UBL (+155.80pts), DAWH (+82.00pts), SNGP (+61.76pts), TRG (+37.35pts), and PSEL (+16.83pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer (-421.28pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-350.97pts), Commercial Banks (-176.64pts), Cement (-175.13pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (-174.49pts).

While the index was supported by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+74.56pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (+42.96pts), Paper, Board & Packaging (+11.71pts), Glass & Ceramics (+10.66pts), and Miscellaneous (+9.66pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,668.08 with a net loss of 961.79 points or 1.34%.

Total market volume was 880.60 million shares compared to 857.83m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs54.46 billion showing an increase of Rs3.91bn.

There were 433,224 trades reported in 456 companies with 129 closing up, 288 closing down, and 39 remaining unchanged.
