PSX Closing Bell: Another One Bites the Dust

March 12, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 114,084.53, showing a decrease of 93.12 points or 0.08%.

The index traded in a range of 660.38 points showing an intraday high of 114,661.88 (+484.23) and a low of 114,001.50 (-176.15) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 128.44 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 47 closed up, 50 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were IBFL (-4.06%), KTML (-2.81%), MEHT (-2.25%), PIBTL (-1.96%), and NBP (-1.92%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PABC (+5.00%), AGP (+2.65%), MLCF (+2.53%), THALL (+2.40%), and DGKC (+2.11%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-126.08pts), OGDC (-33.37pts), ENGROH (-28.07pts), NBP (-26.18pts), and LUCK (-21.27pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were MARI (+62.03pts), BAHL (+29.29pts), MLCF (+21.45pts), PABC (+17.44pts), and DGKC (+17.11pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer (-109.27pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-33.42pts), Automobile Assembler (-25.99pts), Commercial Banks (-19.39pts), and Textile Composite (-12.70pts).

While the index was supported by Cement (+53.24pts), Miscellaneous (+18.21pts), Pharmaceuticals (+17.15pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (+12.40pts), and Refinery (+11.53pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,952.47 with a net loss of 56.69 points or 0.08%.

Total market volume was 299.63 million shares compared to 318.52m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs20.26 billion showing a decrease of Rs2.62bn.

There were 197,346 trades reported in 432 companies with 159 closing up, 213 closing down, and 60 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 35,640 points or 45.43% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 1,042 points or 0.91% so far this calendar year.
