Prime Minister calls for long-term strategy to eradicate energy sector debt

January 24, 2023 (MLN): In order to eliminate the revolving credit in the energy sector, the caretaker prime minister, Anwar ul Haq Kakar stressed the need for an effective, long-lasting, and viable strategy during a meeting on Wednesday.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the plan aimed at reducing revolving credit in the energy sector.

The country is grappling with a substantial circular debt and the government is taking significant measures to reduce it.

With the similar objective, the government launched the anti-electricity theft operation which according to the prime minister has significantly improved the recoveries of electricity distribution companies.
