PMEX index closes at 3,546 points

Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited's commodity index on Tuesday closed at 3,546 points; with traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX recorded at Rs.4.282 billion.

The number of lots traded was 8,220, said press release on Wednesday (The data is compiled and released after 24 hours).

Major business was contributed by currencies through COTS amounting to Rs1.239 billion, followed by gold Rs.1.124 billion, WTI crude oil Rs.1.044 billion, NSDQ100 Rs.291.277 million, platinum Rs.254.018 million, silver Rs.150.977 million, copper Rs.75.350 million, DJ Rs.60.461 million, SP500 Rs.25.458 million, Brent crude oil Rs.8.431 million and natural gas Rs.8.184 million.

In agriculture commodities, 3 lots of cotton amounting to Rs.15.692 million were traded.
