May 07, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace was reiterated by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during a telephone conversation with H.E. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, this afternoon.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Qatar for its solidarity and support to Pakistan during these difficult times.

During the call, the Prime Minister strongly condemned India's missile strikes that targeted six sites in Pakistan, calling them an unprovoked act of war.

He described the cowardly attack on Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, which resulted in the death of 26 men, women, and children, and the destruction of several mosques, as a grave threat to peace and stability in South Asia.

Prime Minister Sharif emphasized Pakistan's desire for peace in the region but made it clear that Pakistan would defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity with full vigor and force.

He also recalled his previous offer for a neutral and transparent international investigation into India’s allegations following the Pahalgam incident, according to the press release.

Pakistan would welcome Qatar's participation in this effort, but India’s aggressive actions showed its irresponsibility and reluctance for peace.

In response, the Prime Minister of Qatar expressed his condolences for the loss of lives and commended Pakistan’s commitment to fostering peace in South Asia.

He also expressed Qatar's willingness to play a role in de-escalating the prevailing situation in the region.
