PM honors Navy's role in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos

May 20, 2025 (MLN): To honor the Pakistan Navy for its significant role in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the Naval Dockyard in Karachi.

During his visit, he met with naval officers and sailors, praising their outstanding professionalism, combat readiness, and unwavering dedication to the country's defense.

In his address, the Prime Minister acknowledged the Navy’s strong operational capabilities, strategic preparedness, and its crucial deterrent efforts in securing maritime borders against hostile threats.

He expressed the nation’s gratitude and reinforced trust in the abilities of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, as per the press release issued.

He also commended the Navy for its vital efforts in protecting sea lanes and supporting uninterrupted maritime trade, emphasizing its role in preserving national maritime sovereignty through a multi-layered defense strategy.

Referring to the Navy’s distinguished record, including the notable Operation Dwarka, the Prime Minister highlighted the force’s continued readiness for high-stakes operations whenever needed.

Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff. Also in attendance were Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu.

During the visit, the Prime Minister boarded the Type-054A Class Destroyer, PNS TAIMUR, where the Commander of the Pakistan Fleet briefed him on the Navy's strategic missions, operational commitments, and key achievements.

He was accompanied by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaulah Tarar, and Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
