December 29, 2020: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to mobilize all resources to provide affordable electricity to the consumers.

Addressing an Energy sector review meeting in Islamabad, he said the government is fully focused on meeting the energy needs of all sectors.

Imran Khan said the government is also working on targeted subsidies for the provision of cheaper electricity to consumers.

The Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing about the current situation of the energy sector in the country, and he expressed satisfaction over it.

Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan, Special Assistant Tabish Gohar, and Secretary Energy briefed the meeting about the improvement in the power distribution system.

The Prime Minister was also apprised about the current situation of circular debt.
