PKR weakens by 8 paisa per USD

March 13, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) fell by 8.11 paisa or 0.03% against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.05 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 279.97.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.05 and a low (ask) of 280.00.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.20 for buying and 281.75 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 1.26 rupees or 0.41% against the Euro, closing at 304.43 compared to the previous value of 305.69.

Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 51.10 paisa or 0.14% to 362.82 compared to 362.31 a day ago.

The local unit deteriorated 32.62 paisa or 0.10% against Swiss franc to close at 317.81.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 0.80 paisa or 0.42% to close the session at 1.8948 versus 1.8868 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee fell 1.04 paisa or 0.03% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.67 from 38.66.

The local currency decreased by 1.57 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 74.67. While it depreciated by 2.31 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.25.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 1.71 rupees or 0.61%. While it has fell 1.50 rupees or 0.54% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 11.77% and 12.02%.
