PKR loses 5 paisa against USD

October 22, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) weakened by 5.00 paisa or 0.02% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 277.74 per USD, compared to previous closing of 277.69.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 277.80 and a low (ask) of 277.70.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR increased 37.62 paisa or 0.12% against the Euro, closing at 300.90 compared to the previous value of 301.28.

Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 42.09 paisa or 0.12% to 361.14 compared to 361.56 a day ago.

The local unit deteriorated 9.50 paisa or 0.03% against Swiss franc to close at 321.10.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value increased 1.17 paisa or 0.63% to close the session at 1.8415 versus 1.8532 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee increased 2.91 paisa or 0.07% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.00 from 39.03.

The local currency deteriorated by 1.14 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 73.95. While it fell by 1.36 paisa or 0.02% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.61.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has strengthened against the US Dollar by 60.38 paisa or 0.22%. While it has rose 4.12 rupees or 1.48% so far this calendar year.
