PKR gains 11 paisa against USD

December 13, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) gained by 11.19 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 278.12 per USD, compared to previous closing of 278.23.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 278.20 and a low (ask) of 278.05.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 277.50 for buying and 279.15 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR strengthened 1.54 rupees or 0.52% against the Euro, closing at 291.06 compared to the previous value of 292.60.
Against the British Pound, PKR strengthened by 3.87 rupees or 1.09% to 351.25 compared to 355.12 a day ago.
The local unit rose 4.03 rupees or 1.28% against Swiss franc to close at 311.30.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value increased 0.34 paisa or 0.19% to close the session at 1.8197 versus 1.8231 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee appreciated 9.09 paisa or 0.24% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.21 from 38.30.
The local currency strengthened by 2.98 paisa or 0.04% against Saudi Riyal to 74.01. While it gained by 3.26 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.72.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 22.26 paisa or 0.08%. While it has rose 3.74 rupees or 1.35% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 11.96% and 12.21%.
