PKR depreciates by 70 paisa against EUR

April 30, 2019 (MLN): While Pakistani Rupee (PKR) continues to hold its ground at 141.39 per US Dollar (USD) since April 12, 2019, its value against GBP and EUR remains variable.

At today’s interbank trade, the currency depreciated by 70 paisa against EUR to close the day at PKR 158.52 per EUR, against yesterday’s closing value of PKR 157.83.

Similarly, PKR’s value depreciated by 66 paisa against GBP as it closed today’s interbank session at PKR 183.59 per GBP.

The Open Market rates on the other hand were PKR 141.30/142.50 per USD

In the money market, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) conducted an Open Market Operation in which it mopped up Rs.72.60 Billion from the market for 3 Days at 10.70 percent.

Meanwhile, overnight repo rate towards close of session was 10.60/10.80 percent and 1 Week rate was 10.65/10.75 percent.

On the other hand, yields for 3 Year PIB's increased by 10 basis points while those of the 5 Year PIB increased by 5 basis points.
