PKR decreases by 4 paisa against USD

October 28, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) deteriorated by 3.89 paisa or 0.01% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 277.68 per USD, compared to previous closing of 277.64.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 277.75 and a low (ask) of 277.65.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 276.75 for buying and 278.62 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR increased 62.43 paisa or 0.21% against the Euro, closing at 299.97 compared to the previous value of 300.59.

Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 14.39 paisa or 0.04% to 360.06 compared to 360.20 a day ago.

The local unit strengthened 36.12 paisa or 0.11% against Swiss franc to close at 320.00.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 1.64 paisa or 0.90% to close the session at 1.8105 versus 1.8269 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee increased 2.85 paisa or 0.07% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.95 from 38.98.

The local currency deteriorated by 1.82 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 73.94. While it fell by 1.07 paisa or 0.01% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.60.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has appreciated against the US Dollar by 66.00 paisa or 0.24%. While it has appreciated 4.18 rupees or 1.51% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 4 bps to 13.83% and 14.08%.
