Petrol prices raised by Rs4.13 per litre, third consecutive hike

March 01, 2024 (MLN): The government has once again raised the price of petrol by Rs4.13 per litre amid an increasing trend in global oil prices.

This marks the third consecutive fortnightly increase.

According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the new petrol price now stands at Rs279.75 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) was maintained at Rs287.33 per litre.

These prices will be effective for the first half of March and are based on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government hiked the petrol price by Rs2.7 per litre, and the price of diesel was increased by Rs8.4 per litre.

While the cumulative increase in February was Rs16.28 per litre for petrol and Rs10.87 per litre for HSD.
