Pakistan’s yearly inflation at 12.3% YoY in Dec’21

January 1, 2022 (MLN): Pakistan's yearly inflation rate (new base 2015-16) in December 2021 hit 22-months high at 12.3% compared to 11.53% in November 2021 and 8% in December 2020, data issued by Pakistan Burea of Statistics (PBS) showed today.

The last inflation figure recorded above 12% was in February 2020 where CPI reading came at 12.40% .

The July-December average inflation is 9.8% compared to 8.63% from the corresponding period last year.

Market Expectations for December were between 12.2% – 12.9% with an average estimate of 12.46%.

On a monthly basis, it decreased by 0.02% in December 2021 as compared to an increase of 3% in the previous month and a decrease of 0.7% in December 2020.
