Pakistan, Türkiye expand cooperation in innovation, development

February 20, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Türkiye continue to strengthen their collaboration in aerospace, defense, and advanced technology, reaffirming their commitment to innovation and development, as the Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, visited the Turkish Aerospace Pakistan office.

The visit aimed to highlight the growing partnership between the two nations and explore innovative research and development initiatives in Pakistan’s technological sector.

During the visit, he also toured the National Science and Technology Park (NSTP) and the School of Interdisciplinary Engineering and Sciences (SINES) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).

Ambassador of Türkiye, Irfan Neziroglu, was also present to receive the Minister, underscoring Türkiye’s commitment to fostering economic and technological cooperation with Pakistan.

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), a key player in the aerospace and defense industry, operates in Pakistan through its offices at NSTP and SINES.

The organization focuses on strengthening collaboration in aerospace and defense while promoting technology transfer, R&D, and innovation.

As part of his visit, the Federal Minister for Commerce also toured the National Center for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI), a leading AI research institution in Pakistan dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science.

The government has been actively working to build capacity in these emerging technologies, recognizing their potential for transforming key sectors, including aerospace and defense, according to the press release.

During his visit, the Minister expressed support for the ongoing efforts at Turkish Aerospace Pakistan and emphasized the need for stronger partnerships between the government, academia, and the private sector.

The visit reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering a robust aerospace and technology ecosystem, positioning the country for economic and technological growth.
