July 25, 2024 (MLN): The salaried class in Pakistan is paying up to 9.4 times more tax than in India, according to Pakistan Business Council (PBC), country’s largest business policy advocacy platform.

“For two countries with almost the same cost of living, income tax on salaried employees in Pakistan is up to 9.4 times that in India,” said the PBC in a post on social media platform X.

"Taxed employees in Pakistan certainly do not get better value for their contribution," PBC said, adding that Pakistan's tax system is far from equitable.
