Pakistan, Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation in science, technology sector

September 30, 2021: Pakistan and Kazakhstan here Thursday discussed avenues for strengthening cooperation in the field of science and technology sector.

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerzhan Kistafin in a meeting with Coordinator-General, COMSTECH, Professor Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary appreciated COMSTECH initiatives and assured full support for capacity building initiatives of COMSTECH for OIC member states, as well bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.

The ambassador during his visit to the COMSTECH Secretariat also discussed joint initiatives for science and technology, capacity building, and higher education linkage, said a news release.

Both the dignitaries discussed the establishment of linkages between universities, reactivate the OIC15 program, and launch proceedings of the Al-Farabi Forum organized by COMSTECH last year on the occasion of the 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi – renowned Muslim philosopher.

They discussed establishing the Al-Farabi chair in the universities of Pakistan and the Iqbal chair in the universities of Kazakhstan.

The Ambassador agreed to the suggestion of holding the Iqbal Forum in Kazakhstan next year.

The embassy of Kazakhstan will hold a live conference on the 30th anniversary of the Pak-Kazakh relationship, the envoy said.
