National Savings cuts profit rates up to 36bps

September 14, 2026 (MLN): The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has revised profit rates across its savings instruments, with most certificates and accounts posting cuts of 30-36 basis points, while short-tenor and Islamic savings products moved higher.

Defence Savings Certificates (DSC), effective September 8, 2026, saw their rate cut by 33bps to 11.61% from 11.94%. Behbood Savings Certificate (BSC) and Pensioners Benefit Account (PBA), both effective September 8, were reduced by 36bps each to 12.60% from 12.96%.

Shuhada Family Welfare Account (SFWA), also effective September 8, was similarly cut by 36bps to 12.60%.

Regular Income Certificates (RIC), effective September 9, dropped 36bps to 11.16% from 11.52%.

Special Savings Certificates (SSC) and Special Savings Account (SSA), both effective September 10, were trimmed 30bps each to 10.90% from 11.20%.

Two instruments moved against the broader trend. Short Term Savings Certificate (STSC), effective September 9, rose 11bps to 11.28% from 11.17%.

The Sarwa Islamic Saving Account (SISA), effective September 10, and Sarwa Islamic Term Account (SITA), effective September 11 both 1-year tenors increased 15bps each to 11.25% from 11.10%.
