October 15, 2023 (MLN): The caretaker Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar and Managing Director of the IMF Kristalina Georgieva on Sunday engaged in a high-stakes discussion centred on global economic stability and Pakistan's dedication to financial reforms, said a press release issued on the same day.

This pivotal meeting was held on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Marrakech.

The discussion revolved around global economic stability and Pakistan's commitment to financial reforms, with a shared commitment to strengthening economic resilience and fostering international cooperation.

On the same day, Dr Shamshad met with Moody's and S&P Global and reiterated the government's commitment to transparency in order to foster investor confidence.

She further highlighted the government's dedication to improving fiscal governance and implementing reforms that will contribute to sustainable economic growth.
