January 1, 2020 (MLN): Pakistan’s luck did not go very well in previous year in terms of GDP growth, and the same is expected this year as well.  Contrary to the target of 3.5% set by the government, the GDP is likely to settle at 2.6% this year, considering the lackluster performance of LSMI in the first quarter of FY2020 as well as lack of agricultural output.

Nonetheless, some progress in the overall economic activity is expected in the second half of 2020, as a result of stability in exchange rate, lower interest rates and improvement in Business Confidence.
