December 26, 2024 (MLN): Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (PSX: OGDC) has successfully revived and enhanced oil production from the Pasakhi-5 well, located in District Hyderabad, Sindh, the company's filing on PSX revealed today.
The Pasakhi-5 well is part of the Pasakhi Development & Production Lease (D&PL), an OGDCL-operated project in which the company holds a 100% working interest.
As part of its strategic optimization initiative, OGDCL deployed a rig to install an artificial lift system, specifically an Electric Submersible Pump (ESP), at the Pasakhi-5 well.
Before this intervention, the well was producing 480 barrels of oil per day (BPD) through natural flow.
The installation of the ESP has significantly enhanced production, which has now increased to 900 BPD marking a notable increment of 420 BPD.
This improvement demonstrates OGDCL's effective use of advanced technologies to maximize output from existing assets.
This achievement highlights OGDCL's dedication to utilizing innovative technologies to boost energy production, support a sustainable energy supply, and strengthen Pakistan's energy resources, ultimately contributing to the nation's economic growth.
