Net foreign purchasing via SCRA demonstrates tenfold growth

February 7, 2019 (MLN): The overseas investors once again indulged in excessive purchasing of securities as during the week ended February 1, 2019, the net purchase of securities via Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) was recorded at Rs. 2,143 million i.e. approximately ten times more than that of previous week.

The total purchase of securities stood at Rs. 7.4 billion, up from Rs. 7.2 billion recorded a week before, whereas the total sale of securities during the week was worth Rs. 5.3 billion.

Apart from this, the flow of remittances into SCRA amounted to Rs.3.3 billion, while the outflow of remittances stood at Rs. 1.3 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA stood at Rs.28.6 billion, up from Rs.28.3 billion recorded previous week.
