Mr. Qaiser Ahmad briefs a meeting of National Assembly on Finance

A Meeting of National Assembly on Finance was held today under the chairmanship of Qaiser Ahmed Shaikh.

During the meeting, Mr. Arif Ahmad Khan gave briefing on Economic Affairs Division.

He said that during the last five years Government has borrowed total sum of $36.8 billion.  

Of which the Government has borrowed $7.2 billion from the local Commercial Banks

Furthermore, highlighting the loans taken from international institutions and the World Donor Organizations he said that the “The World Bank Group has given $ 5.80 billion dollars to Pakistan during the last five years”.

He also mentioned the ADB loan amounting to 4.40 billion that were taken by the incumbent Government. Further elaborating the raising of funds throughout the year, he said that Government in the last five years have issued total bonds valued at 4.53 billion dollars to international investors around the world.
