Minister emphasizes for timely execution of govt. package for IT companies, freelancers

March 25, 2022 (MLN): The government package announced for IT companies and freelancers should be implemented as soon as possible so that the economy can reap its benefits, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haq said while attending a meeting of the board of directors of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) on Friday.

Considering the regulations, such measures should be expedited which would reduce government expenditure but increase revenue, he added.

There is no doubt that the IT industry is playing an important role in the economy of the country but we want the industry to be of fundamental importance in the economic development of the country. In this regard, all the relevant stakeholders and institutions have to work hard, he noted.

The meeting was attended by Secretary IT Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput, MD Software Export Board Usman Nasir, Chairman Pakistan Software House Association Badr Khushnood and other officials and members.
