LSM during July – Feb, 2018 increases by 6.24 percent

According to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), year on year Large Scale Manufacturing (LSM) during the first eight months of fiscal year 2018 increased by 6.24 percent compared to same period last year.

However, Large Scale Manufacturing Index (LSMI) output increased by 5.52 percent for February, 2018 compared to February, 2017 and decreased by 1.51 percent against January 2018. LSM Index took a dip downward after month on month Ministry of Industries production during February fell by 5.71 percent, despite a 4.21 percent increase in Provincial BOS.

Overall, eleven sectors showed a significant growth in the cumulative period including with highest growth in production coming from Electronics, Iron & Steel Products, and Automobiles. On the other hand, chemicals, fertilizers, leather and wood production reported declines during the month.
