KSE-100 slips to 107,729 in intraday

December 09, 2024 (MLN): After a record-breaking performance last week, the KSE-100 index started the new week on a negative note as investors opted to book profits.

The index is currently trading at 107,729.29, showing a decrease of 1,324.66 points or 1.21% from last close.

Top losers were UBL (-4.57%), MEBL (-5.12%), AKBL (-5.38%), BAFL (-5.21%), and BAHL (-4.07%).

On the other hand, top gainers were JDWS (+9.61%), AIRLINK (+4.66%), AICL (+3.85%), and SHEL (+1.54%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were UBL (-341.82pts), MEBL (-200.32pts), BAHL (-164.15pts), MCB (-141.09pts), and HBL (-116.81pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were ENGRO (+42.87pts), NML (+35.61pts), SEARL (+33.45pts), AICL (+31.88pts), and AIRLINK (+29.32pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-1177.49pts), Fertilizer (-138.99pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-89.26pts), Cement (-60.96pts), and Engineering (-19.85pts).

While the index was supported by Technology & Communication (+70.48pts), Textile Composite (+39.89pts), Pharmaceuticals (+34.39pts), Insurance (+31.91pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (+18.58pts).
