KSE – 100 index gains 336.21 points

KSE – 100, PSX benchmark index, today continued yesterday’s positive momentum following Rupee depreciation that happened early on Tuesday. The index managed to gain 336.21 points closing at 44645.95 points during the day wiht major ciontribution from financials, fertilizer and O&G Exploration scrips. Despite the positive mood throughout the day, the volume traded declined by more than 10 percent today.

Index has been buoyant on the back of Rupee depreciation, which has favored E&P, Commercial Banks, Textiles and other export heavy sectors.

Volume traded decreased by 10.77 percent during the session after total volume clocked in at 82.615 million versus 92.593 million on Friday.

Commercial Banks, Fertilizer, and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies closed the session at the top today after collectively contributing more than 350 points.

Sector-wise all share index top ten sector turnover was led by Chemical (44.595 million), Commercial Banks (23.155 million), and Technology & Communication (21.231 million) with Glass & Ceramics (6.662 million) and Power Generation & Distribution (6.400 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.

KSE - 100 Index at the day end moved a total of 336.21 points up 0.76 percent, closing in at 44645.95 points with index high – low range of 44840.69 – 44309.74.

KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 206.997 million shares, the value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 9.102 billion.

The index moved in the range of 530.95 points.

46 companies closed up, whereas 41 were down at the day end.
