KSE – 100 index gained yesterday’s gains during the day as a streak of positive news helped investors gained confidence in the index. Volumes picked up during the day by around 10 million increasing the value of trades helped by the rising stability in the Political Arenas as road to next Elections seems clear to investors.
Index welcomed the announcement of Government’s decision to appoint Mr. Rana Afzal, an MPA from Faisalabad to be appointed as the new Finance Minister of Pakistan after Mr. Shahid Khaqqan Abbasi approved his nomination. Mr. Afzal is an ex-Captain who served in Pakistan Army from 1971 – 76, and is currently serving as the member of Special Committee of Public Accounts Committee No. II.
Commercial Banks extended the positivity as Rate hike prospects grow brighter with every passing day. BOP +3.99%, NBP +2.96%, SNBL +7.42% and UBL +2.01% stocks were the headliners in the Commercial Banks scrips.
Sector-wise all share index turnover was led by Cement (30.610 million), Technology & Communication (29.719 million), Commercial Banks (19.772 million) and with Cable & Electrical Goods (8.022 million) and Fertilize(7.871 million) stocks trailing at the bottom.
KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of +712.44 points up by +1.84%, closing in at 39428.21 points with index high-low range of 38525.21 – 38710.53.
KSE – All Share Index Volume was at 222.856 million shares, value of shares traded for all-shares index reached PKR 9.173 billion.
The index movement was limited within the 814.68 points range.
73 companies closed up, whereas 14 were down at the day end.
