KSE-100 bleeds again

April 09, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) faced a substantial intraday decline today as the benchmark KSE-100 index dropped 2,316.66 points or 2.01% at 11:03 AM.

This negativity is credited to the ongoing volatility in global financial markets.

Top losers are PSEL (-6.38%), NPL (-4.76%), PPL (-4.68%), PKGP (-4.54%), and AIRLINK (-4.37%).

On the other hand, top gainers are PGLC (+4.93%), BNWM (+2.03%), PTC (+2.01%), PAKT (+1.03%), and NESTLE (+0.65%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were UBL (-267.63pts), PPL (-180.20pts), FFC (-166.40pts), OGDC (-162.01pts), and ENGROH (-125.59pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were PTC (+9.03pts), HMB (+6.40pts), INDU (+5.81pts), PAKT (+5.65pts), and DGKC (+3.91pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-527.53pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-434.36pts), Fertilizer (-251.27pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-164.78pts), and Cement (-145.17pts).

While the index was supported by Tobacco (+5.65pts), Woollen (+0.11pts), Vanaspati & Allied Industries (+0.00pts), Leasing Companies (+0.00pts), and Synthetic & Rayon (+0.00pts).
