Jaishankar departs Pakistan after SCO Summit, lauds warm hospitality

October 17, 2024 (MLN): Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has concluded his visit to Pakistan after attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.

Before departing, Jaishankar expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani government for their "splendid hospitality" in a message on X (formerly Twitter), thanking Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his graciousness during the event.

Jaishankar also extended his appreciation to Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and the people of Pakistan for the warm reception.

He highlighted his meetings during the summit, including informal discussions with Dar during a luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Sharif, where they sat together.

Earlier, Jaishankar congratulated Pakistan on assuming the chairmanship of the SCO Heads of Council and assured India’s "full cooperation" during Pakistan's tenure as chair, underscoring the significance of regional collaboration.
