Ground Breaking of Rashakai Zone scheduled in May: Makhdum Khusro Bakhtiar

April 25, 2019 (MLN): Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar has stated that the ground breaking of Rashakai Economic Zone is scheduled in May and that Rashakai has the potential to be a role model for other SEZ’s.

While appreciating the development of Rashakai Special Economic Zone, he suggested that Pakistan and China should work to attract Chinese enterprises and investors to come and invest in Pakistan.

Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar called on the CEO China Roads and Bridges Corporation, Du Fei , during his visit to Beijing , on Thursday.  He highlighted the contribution of Chinese government in building KKH and other mega projects. Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan and project Director Hassan Dawood and senior officials from both sides were also present in the meeting.

Minister for Planning thanked the CEO for his valuable support and also recommended that the certain projects in the eastern corridor may be taken up on BOT financing mod.

CEO CRBC Mr. Du Fei highly appreciated efforts of planning ministry in taking up CPEC to next phase and acknowledged that Rashakai would be a model for other SEZs. CEO informed that CRBC is keen in undertaking highway projects in BOT mod based on pragmatic planning.
