Govt maintains petrol price at Rs279.75 per litre

March 16, 2024 (MLN): The federal government has decided to keep the price of petrol unchanged at Rs279.75 per litre, said a notification issued by the Finance Division.

Meanwhile, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) was slashed slightly by Rs1.77 to Rs285.56 per litre.

The new prices will remain in effect for the second half of March, 2024 and are based on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

To recall, in the previous fortnight, the government raised petrol prices by Rs4.13 per litre while maintaining diesel prices.

While a month earlier, the government cumulatively increased the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs16.28 and Rs10.87 per litre respectively in February.
