Govt hikes petrol price by Rs3.47 per litre

January 15, 2024 (MLN): The federal government has raised the price of petrol by Rs3.47, bringing it to Rs256.13 per litre for the upcoming fortnight, according to a notification issued by the Finance Division today.

Additionally, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs2.61 to Rs260.95 per litre.

The new prices will be effective from January 16, 2025.

"The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices of petroleum products given the fluctuations in the international market in the last fortnight," the notification reads.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the federal government raised the price of petrol by 56 paisa to Rs252.66 per litre.
