December 31, 2024 (MLN): The federal government has raised the price of petrol by 56 paisa, bringing it to Rs252.66 per litre for the upcoming fortnight, according to a notification issued by the Finance Division today.

Additionally, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs2.96 to Rs258.34 per litre.

The new prices will be effective from January 1, 2025, 

"The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has worked out the consumer prices of petroleum products in view of the fluctuations in the international market in the last fortnight," the notification reads.

It has accordingly been decided that the prices of the petroleum products for the next fortnight starting from 01 st January 2025, it added. 

To recall, in the last fortnight, the federal government kept the price of petrol unchanged at Rs252.1 per litre.
