Govt cuts petrol price by another Rs1.86 per litre

September 01, 2024 (MLN): The federal government has once again reduced the price of petrol by Rs1.89 to Rs259.1 per litre following a slight drop in international prices.

Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been slashed by Rs3.32 per litre, now costing Rs 262.75.

Furthermore, the per litre rates for kerosene and light diesel oil have been reduced by Rs2.15 and Rs2.97, bringing them to Rs169.62 and Rs154.05, respectively

The new prices are effective from September 01 and will remain in place for the next 15 days.

This marks the third consecutive reduction in fuel prices, bringing the cumulative reduction in petrol prices to Rs16.5 per litre.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government reduced the price of petrol by Rs8.47 to Rs260.96 per litre.

Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was slashed by Rs6.7 to Rs266.07 per litre.
