Govt clears non-utilised sums from WB projects for COVID-19 response

March 20, 2020: The government has cleared the funds that are reallocated from unutilized World Bank projects which can be used by provinces and federal government for Covid-19 equipment purchases and responses.

Minister for Economic Affairs, Hammad Azhar announced via his twitter handle that Gov’t has helped arrange the cancellations, reallocations and given the expedited approvals. Provinces and Fed Gov’t will have to spend with the given ratio:

Punjab: $7.5 million
Sindh: $10 million
KPK: $7 million
Baluchistan: $ 2 million
Fed govt: $13.5 million
