Government revises down Cotton production target to 10.02 mln bales

October 04, 2019: (MLN): The Cotton Crop Assessment Committee (CCAC) has revised down cotton production target for the running season by almost 24% to touch 10.02 million bales against the initial target of 13.34 million bales. The change in weather, heat and pest attack has led to lowering of the cotton production.
The cotton crop size for Punjab is now projected at 6.2 million bales, followed by Sindh with 3.9 million bales.
Last year, total cotton production stood at 10.77 million bales, of which Punjab produced 6.6 million bales, while Sindh produced 4.1 million bales.
