Government decides to keep petroleum product prices unchanged

The government has decided to keep petroleum product prices unchanged for May aimed to boost revenue collection. The Ministry of Finance through its statement said the prices of petroleum product to remain unchanged. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority proposed a cut in motor gasoline and high speed diesel prices, however raise in kerosene and light diesel prices. The price of petroleum product to remain unchanged which help government to improve revenue collection which is falling short from its target. The exchequer to earn in the range of Rs 2 billion to Rs 3 billion from the sales of the product.

From next month:

  • motor gasoline to be sold at Rs 74 per liter
  • high speed diesel Rs 83 per liter
  • kerosene Rs 44 per liter; and
  • light diesel oil Rs 44 per liter.
