Gold price rises by Rs 700 to Rs 95,200 per tola

March 9, 2020 (MLN): The capital markets plunged today which lifted the demand for safe-haven metal i.e. gold.  The price of per tola gold jumped by Rs 700 to close at Rs 95,200 in the local market. The yellow metal had closed at Rs 94,500 per tola on last trading day.

According to the Karachi Sarafa Association, 10-gram gold gained Rs 600 to settle at Rs 81,618.

On the other hand, the silver prices remained flat and closed at Rs 1000 per tola. Similarly, 10-gram silver remained stable at Rs 857.33.

In the global market, gold prices edged lower by $9 to $1,666 per ounce, while silver was valued at $16.90 per ounce.
