January 20, 2025 (MLN): Federal Minister of Finance, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, will participate in the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum 2025, scheduled to take place in Davos, Switzerland, from 20 to 24 January.
During the event, he will engage with political, trade, and business leaders from various countries and global organizations.
The Finance Minister will clarify the country’s economic landscape through various sessions and discussions, according to the press release issued today.
He will participate as a panelist in a high-level discussion on the increasing debt burden of developing economies.
In his speech, Muhammad Aurangzeb will present his perspective on building strong and resilient economies through changes in financial policies and debt sustainability.
The Finance Minister will also participate as a panelist in a high-level discussion on the transformative effects of new technologies, particularly AI and automation, on trade and investment promotion.
Furthermore, he will share views on various aspects of achieving precise and profitable trade and investment through the use of technologies.
Muhammad Aurangzeb will further meet with delegates and ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Qatar.
He will also hold meetings with officials of global financial and business institutions, international organizations involved in sustainable development, investors, and commercial banks, particularly those from the Middle East.
The Finance Minister will participate in two separate discussions organized by Pathfinder Group on the themes of "Digital Pakistan" and "Investment in Pakistan."
During the visit, he will give interviews to selected representatives of international media outlets.
The 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum is being held under the slogan "Cooperation for Staying Aligned with the Era of Smart Technologies."
Numerous heads of state and government, leaders from the private sector, and civil society are attending the annual meeting.
More than a thousand high-level representatives from the private sector, young leaders, civil society, and academic institutions are also participating in the Forum.
The Forum will present solutions based on partnerships and international cooperation in various economic and developmental sectors between governments and major international organizations and institutions.
