FinMin discusses efforts to restore macroeconomic stability

February 06, 2025 (MLN): The government’s strategic efforts to restore macroeconomic stability and lay the foundation for sustainable economic growth were discussed by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, in a meeting at the Finance Division.

He held separate meetings with veteran economists and former caretaker Ministers for Finance, Shahid Javed Burki and Shamshad Akhtar, respectively.

During the meetings, views on the country's economic progress were exchanged, according to the press release issued today.

Shahid Javed Burki, widely respected for his expertise and leadership in financial and economic matters, shared valuable insights and perspectives from his vast experience.

Shamshad Akhtar, also highly regarded for her leadership in financial and economic matters, provided constructive input to Senator Aurangzeb’s ongoing efforts in economic governance.

Muhammad Aurangzeb lauded the contributions of both the veteran economists in institutional building, economic policy formulation, and economic management in various capacities.

He also highlighted their roles in shaping the direction of the country’s financial landscape and their distinguished service at some of the country’s leading financial and academic institutions.
